Earle Brown ( 1926 -- 2002 )

Composer. Born Earle Appleton Brown on December 26, 1926, in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, USA. In the 1950s he began to write highly influential avant-garde works in "open form,' giving performers wide choices, the scores sometimes being noteless diagrams. He was also an active teacher.
