Organist, composer, and music publisher, born in London, England, UK. He arranged the publication of two volumes of sacred music (1811), which was the start of the publishing house of Novello & Co. He was a founder-member of the Philharmonic Society (1813), and subsequently its pianist and conductor. His compositions improved church music, and he was a painstaking editor of unpublished works. |
