Soprano, born in Sweden. She studied at the Stockholm Opera School, and was engaged by the Royal Opera, Stockholm (1950). She appeared at Glyndebourne in 1957, the Metropolitan Opera Company in 1959, and Covent Garden in 1960, and subsequently sang in all the leading international opera houses. In the 1959 season she sang all three leading female roles in Der Rosenkavelier.
