Musicologist and composer, born in London, England, UK. Largely self-taught, in 1920 he founded The Sackbut, a spirited musical periodical. His works include the song cycle The Curlew (1920--2), the orchestral suite Capriol (1926), many songs, often in the Elizabethan manner, and choral works. |
