Chet Baker ( 1929 -- 1987 )

Jazz musician, born in Yale, Oklahoma, USA. He was a popular trumpeter who emerged with the Gerry Mulligan Quartet in 1952--3. He freelanced thereafter, but his career was hampered by drug addiction and prison sentences in the USA and Europe.
